Ballet Palm Beach to Tour Cuba

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla- (May 28, 2017) Ballet Ambassadors, Ballet Palm Beach’s summer international outreach program, has been invited to back to Cuba by the Cuban Council of Churches. The ambassadors, which comprise of company members and academy students, will dance throughout Cuba from June 14 until June 20. The group will collaborate with the local community organizations to bring ballet performances to under served populations.
“The first time I traveled with the company, I had never been out of the country before,” said Adriana Salazar, a Trainee with Ballet Palm Beach who toured 6 different countries with Ballet Ambassadors as a student. “What better way to experience other cultures, do what I love, and share God’s love while serving others. I had so many poignant memories made during my first trip to Cuba- I can’t wait to go back.”
Since 2009, Ballet Palm Beach has traveled abroad to Croatia, Bosnia, France, Hungary, Russia, and Cuba, partnering with local charities. The dancers have performed in prisons, parks, churches, detention centers, orphanages, and national stages. In 2015, they even performed for Syrian refugees in a crowded Budapest train station. The goals of the Ballet Ambassador program are to give students and company members first-hand international experiences as they represent Palm Beach County and the United States of America and to uplift global audiences in need.
