Krystina Alexis

Krystina Alexis Nelson realized at an early age that her purpose and calling was with dance. She was an award-winning student choreographer at 13 and a teacher at 16. As a student-dancer, she studied all major forms of theatre and classical dance. She was a print and fashion model, and studied voice and acting. Krystina graduated Cum Laude from the renowned Dance & Arts Management program at Oklahoma City University.

Immediately after graduating, Krystina worked for The Sarasota Ballet, starting as a Production Assistant and quickly promoted to their Development Office. She initiated their current On Pointe donor program, which now raises six-figures for The Company. She moved to NYC and began her professional performance career with Push Factor Dance. She was a featured dancer on stage for various emerging choreographers and dance companies. She has performed on and off-Broadway. Her credits include NBC’s 30 Rock, The Duke on 42nd, The International Dance Festival in NYC, The Flamboyan Theatre, Beachbody Production DVDs, and Six Flags, to name a few. She was a dancer in TV commercials, headlined on cruise ships, and international performances in magic shows.

Krystina has been involved in the competition circuit for more than a decade, starting as a judge and then directing nationally recognized competition tours. She is a sought-after choreographer and guest artist for pre-professional programs and high school dance programs and various studios and performing arts venues throughout the East Coast and Florida. Krystina has been educating students for nearly two decades, inspiring all ages and levels of dance with her vast knowledge throughout the country.

Since moving to Florida, she became a writer for World of Dance Magazine and serves as a guest artist to dance magnet programs in Duval and St. Johns County in north Florida. She holds a Department of Education certificate in Dance K-12. She is also a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Currently, she privately contracts with dancers ages 12 and over to help them enhance their skills and supplement technique and strength work. Her students are technically proficient, prepared, empowered dancers with the know-how and preparation for auditions and competitive marketability. This is one of the most unique offerings Krystina has to give to dancers; understanding the business and the quality of the art and the dedication and work one needs in the dance industry. Her tailored program focuses on movement from a scientific and anatomical standpoint. This includes bringing awareness to potential overuse of muscles that many dancers experience, as well as injury prevention, diet, rest and recovery, and other imperative aspects of becoming a professional dancer. Increasing longevity in the field is also part her work with these dancers. For more information, please visit or email directly.

Krystina’s creative process continually craves growth and exploration. Dance is something that only evolves as much as the creator or the performer is willing to grow. For this reason, Krystina continues to challenge herself as an artist and educator of dance. She delivers inspiring and exciting speaking and Q&A presentations throughout Florida, including with the  Florida Dance Educators Organization (FDEO). She is partnered with Shake The Ground dance competition, offering scholarship awards to dancers to work with her privately to help recipients achieve their dance goals and enhance their abilites.

Krystina’s artistic expression is thought-provoking, uniquely theatrical at times, and she produces works that are fueled by social activism and humanitarian efforts. She has choreographed for the National Lupus Foundation, has directed performances geared toward special needs adolescents and infant Spina Bifida, and has created works which educate dancers about the “bigger picture” of giving service to others, and leading with heart and kindness in life. Krystina continues to inspire audiences and dancers alike with her authenticity as an artist, and a person, and for her eternal passion for the stage. Please connect with Krystina to learn more, or to ask anything dance-related. She loves educating and inspiring other dancers to be become more.
