Miami International Ballet Competition

Miami has a new professional Ballet Competition open to local and international aspiring dancers ages 9 to 25 under
the leadership of Vladimir Issaev and Yanis Pikieris. Vladimir Issaev and Yanis Pikieris, have both enjoyed very successful international careers as dancers, choreographers and artistic directors, and share enormous experience in the development of young ballet artists not only as teachers but also as jury members for different competitions around the world.
As long time important figures of Miami’s artistic community, they had been talking for a few years now, about how our city’s multicultural, international flavor and beauty, make it an ideal destination for a ballet competition. So they decided to join forces in the desire to create a new, annual international dance event for South Florida.
Miami International Ballet Competition will offer young dancers from different cultures and countries, the opportunity to unite and be inspired to share their talents within a competitive atmosphere of discovery and collaboration. MIBC expects to attract participants from around the world and hopes to develop an international following of spectators and artists that will come to Miami annually to share their diverse cultures in a unique dance experience.
Its jury will be comprised of internationally renowned ballet masters and directors, whose knowledge and expertise will aid in making it a world-class event. Participating young artists will also have the opportunity to receive master ballet classes taught by a panel of guest teachers. The competition will take place at the Julius Littman North Miami Beach Performing Arts Theater and is open to dancers ages 9 to 25 classified in 4 different age divisions. They will be able to compete in different categories such as Pas de Deux, Ensemble or Individual Competitor.
